The tutorials are only for operating the software - nothing to do with bugs and problems. My original post had an error? After functioning for some time the program crashed again!!! (PS I have to say solving the continual crash was a significant relief as I am trying to complete a project at the moment) One complication however is that there is an extra folder in the vista registry for visio called "shellex" and I'm not sure if the data is correct as I cannot cross check with XP?Īlso after i correct the the registry the file icon looks more like a PDF icon where you see a miniature of the file page rather than the the typical office icon after the installer (if left to complete the process) has done its thing and as has always been typically associated with a visio files (at least in my over 10 years of using visio programs - 2000 / 2003 and now 2007 version) and continues to be displayed on my laptop - how bizarre?įrom my humble perspective it certainly appears to be an issue with vista and why it effects only visio and not the other office 2007 programs who knows? I run the same software on a laptop (except my OS there is XP pro - much more stable i can confirm that for sure!!!) so i reset the settings as per my laptop and it seems to work without crashing. I go back in and reset them manually and then it works fine (visio that is). It appears that every time the installer starts up (unless I cancel early) the programm settings (hot key data is changed to some ".visio.viewer." data setting?).

Most of the forums speak of a fix associated with bluetooth send function addins this doe not appear anywhere in my OS? Also the only addin i have for visio is Acrobat PDFMAKER. But I haven't used visios for some months prior so it may be a coincidence. What happened yesterday? reloaded the addins for adobe acrobat into excel only - this addin dropped out when excel crashed during an operation with acrobat. No issue with all other software (excel/word/access/picture publisher/powerpoint/outlook.etc). After over 12 hrs of reading forums, googling, running the cd on repair (for office 2007 & Visio 2007) and finally uninstalling and reinstalling visio it continues to happen (windows installer starts up). I have a little problem which just started yesterday.
